MUSIC
Our church is a mature aged yet young congregation who seeks new ways to expand and use the musical talents of the people. Our service tends toward the traditional, but we seek new ways to experience God. Musical styles range from the well known classical and sacred arrangements to spirituals and contemporary hymns. The Adult choir meets from September through May; soloist and special music supplement our summer worship. Although choir members have different levels of expertise, their desire to serve the Lord through music and to enhance worship for others unifies the choir. A Hand bell Choir, utilizing a set of Sculmerich Hand bells, offer music during worship and on occasional special services and events. Our choirs rehearse on Thursday evenings and the Hand Bell choir rehearses on Wednesday evening under the direction of the Music Director, Barbara McConnell. We have a plentitude of musical talent especially with the organists and pianist Pat Bachman and Harold Wylie, pianist. We enjoy the musical gifts of violists, violinists, and cellists who contribute regularly to the worship of God.
