Robert Burns, born on January 25, 1759, is the Poet Laureate of Scotland. His birthday is a national holiday and celebrated in Scotland. Remembering our Presbyterian connection to the Church of Scotland and celebrating our Scottish Church roots we, as well, will be celebrating "Robbie Burns Birth" on the evening of January 28th at 6:00 pm in Conklin Hall.

Beginning this month, a Scottish cookbook will be available on the sign-up table in Conklin Hall for perusing and photographing Scottish recipes to attempt for this celebration. Of course, American pot-luck cuisine will be welcome as well. Following our dinner, we will have a short program saluting the Haggis and will then adjourn to the Sanctuary where the Black Watch from Cedar City will entertain us with the pipes, fiddles and traditional dance.

Feicfidh me ann thu! (See you there! In Gaelic)
