Souper Bowl of Caring

In 1990, the Souper Bowl of Caring began with a simple prayer from a single Presbyterian youth group:

"Lord, even as we enjoy the Super Bowl football game, help us be mindful of those without a bowl of soup to eat."

Since that day, more than $118 million has been raised for local charities across the country through Souper Bowl of Caring. It has become a powerful movement that is transforming the time around Super Bowl weekend into the nation's largest celebration of giving and serving.

On February 9th, the Kansas City Chiefs (sorry Bills fans) and Philadelphia Eagles will take to the field in New Orleans for Super Bowl LIX. Please bring non-perishable food and cash donations to Church and we'll donate the proceeds to Solomon's Porch for their Friday Pantry and Sunday Feast. You can also make cash donations on our Vanco giving site. Just click the Donate button on the Mission pane, enter your donation information and enter "Souper Bowl of Caring" in the note.

The Presbytery's Matthew 25 Initiative group is again holding a competition between Utah Presbyterian congregations to see who can gather the most food and raise the most money. The competition is on a per capita basis, meaning that the total amount collected is divided by the number of members of the church. We are a large church so, if we want to win, we will need to collect A LOT of food and cash.

With the generosity that our congregation and friends show, we expect another banner year and look forward to the 2025 Souper Bowl of Caring when we will be able to come together to help those in our area who need so much.
